Apple’s New Mac Mini Redesign May Finally Ditch the Classic USB-A Ports
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s upcoming Mac Mini will reportedly drop USB-A ports. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman mentions that these new desktop models are expected to reach Apple’s warehouses in September, with the high-end variant featuring the M4 Pro chip shipping in October.
Despite the removal of USB-A ports, the M4 Pro model is said to come with an array of ports, including five USB-C ports (two at the front, three at the back), an ethernet port, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack. Additionally, the new Mac Mini will supposedly include an internal power supply, all packed into a device roughly the size of an Apple TV.
Apple has scheduled a “Glowtime” press event for September 9, where the company is anticipated to unveil the new iPhone 16. However, the announcement of the new Mac lineup may be delayed until later in the fall.
