TikTok has introduced a new “Share to TikTok” feature, allowing users to seamlessly share songs, podcasts, and audiobooks directly from Apple Music and Spotify. Announced on last Thursday, this update makes it easier for music streaming fans to bring their favorite audio content straight to TikTok.
This feature complements TikTok’s “Add to Music App,” introduced last November, which allows users to tap a button beside a song playing in a video to instantly add it to their preferred music streaming service.
Now, when sharing a song or album from Spotify or Apple Music, you’ll see a “Share to TikTok” option. This allows you to post your chosen track directly to the TikTok feed, where you can use Photo Mode or even the green screen effect to appear in the video with your commentary. You can also send it straight to TikTok DMs to share with friends, where they can open the song on Apple Music or Spotify with a tap.
Ole Obermann, TikTok’s global head of music business development, stated in a press release, “The launch of ‘Share to TikTok’ today reflects our continued dedication to enhancing music discovery and promoting artists through collaborations with music streaming platforms.”
Spotify has recently expanded its social sharing options, adding Instagram as another destination for music sharing through a new partnership with Meta, allowing users to share songs to Spotify from Instagram with just a tap. Spotify already integrates with other Meta apps, as well as with platforms like Snapchat, X (formerly Twitter), and others.
