Paul Rudd claims that Marvel had to “tone down” his conflict with Kang in “Ant-Man 3”: If I had a headshot, you wouldn’t be able to tell that I was severely injured.

In “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Paul Rudd’s battle sequence with Kang had blood that Paul Rudd said Marvel had to “tone down.”

In the most recent installment of the “Ant-Man” series, Scott Lang (Rudd) battles the formidable multiversal antagonist Kang (Jonathan Majors), who many fans think may actually succeed in defeating Ant-Man at the end of the film due to his skills and the fact that he’s being set up as a major antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Majors and Rudd were questioned by Access Hollywood about their pivotal fight in “Ant-Man 3.”

According to Scott Evans of Access Hollywood, he was taken aback by the amount of blood that could be seen on Lang’s face in one shot.

Rudd answered: “In fact, they had to make it more subdued. They have to soften it. “You know what, this is a little too much,” they say.”

Rudd did not say specifically which Marvel employee made the request to tone down the sequence.

Both Majors and Rudd responded when asked whether they truly wounded each other during filming their fight sequences that they wouldn’t tell their co-star if they did.

Majors said that he had to take extra precautions to avoid hurting his co-star Michael B. Jordan’s face in the upcoming “Creed III” sequel to “Rocky.”

Majors remarked, “In ‘Creed,’ they were simply like, be careful, be careful with the face. “Just respect, really. I won’t break the headshot, for example. The headshot could be bruised, but it won’t get broken.”

In “Ant-Man 3,” Lang said, “I was so battered that if I had a headshot, you wouldn’t be able to know.”

In addition to Michael Douglas, Bill Murray, and Michelle Pfeiffer, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” hits cinemas on February 17.
